The Lewis Crew

A Texas Christmas!
The girls woke up early on Christmas Sunday to find Grandpa and Grandma Lewis sleeping in the room next door. After a 15-hour drive to Flower Mound, TX (in a squishy car according to Kelvin), they made it safely around 10:30 pm on Saturday evening. We tried to make our Sunday special for our visitors by dressing in our new Christmas wear (new boots for the girls included) and roasting a turkey for dinner. I had to ask Ed to fill in for me on the piano while I went home to get the turkey in the oven at the right time. We enjoyed a turkey feast a la Lauren with our neighbors. We watched “Mr. Krueger’s Christmas” and ended the evening with a Reber Talent Night at the piano directed by Ella.

The next two days were spent enjoying some of our favorite Texas winter break activities and food including Gilbert grapefruit and hot cinnamon rolls, the movie theater (to see The Hobbit Part 2, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2), early morning church basketball, shopping a la Costco, Babes in Frisco for dinner and light show, and hiking around Grapevine Lake with s’mores. Meanwhile, Grandma was busy putting the finishing touches on her special gift to Ella and making Holly a whole new wardrobe. We kicked off into our Christmas Eve segment by visiting the Trietsch Methodish Church’s candlelight program. Luckily, it was kid-friendly. Olena let out a huge shriek just as the minister was beginning his sermon which created a general laugh.
