We delayed our visit to see Santa at Bass Pro until the second week in December. That was a big mistake. We arrived at the store and were handed a number that indicated we would have to return to see Santa eight hours later. Not feasible. So we just enjoyed the other holiday activities and prepared letters to send to Santa. We are very excited about Christmas around here. Dessie wants a Nerf blaster gun, Dora movies and a My Little Pony. Ella wants a Jingle dog and book, another huge Costco polar bear, and several hit movies from this year like Despicable Me 2, etc. Kayla wants a bike, a Barbie and horse and a flutter fairy. I’m happy that we haven’t quite hit the age where technology rules supreme. I think I am nearly ready for the season…nearly! I still expect to be up late every night of the week until December 25th. Then I plan to nap!
On the last day of school before winter break, the girls had a half day. I thought if I picked them up and rushed straight over to Bass Pro Shop, I just may catch Santa in a lull. Again, that was not the case. The wait was still more than two hours. So, I had the girls take a knee and we got a picture with Santa in the background. It was the best I could do. They were OK, but I am still sad I didn't get that classic "baby's first photo with Santa!"
