Check!
When Ella joined the Activity Day girls in May she was challenged by the missionaries to complete a solo reading of the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. She agreed to try. There were several moments throughout the year when there were tears, or cries or whines. There were many, “This is sooo hard,” and “But why?” comments. In fact, two months ago, she was on the ground crying, “This is too hard!” But then she prayed and felt encouraged to keep reading! And sometime in November when she realized that she was within the 100-page mark, she hit a new stride. Suddenly reading three pages a day did not seem so hard. On December 13, 2013, she finished the last page. Wow! You go girl! Ella said of the experience: “I feel spiritual and I know it’s true, but it’s hard to understand.” Her parents are thrilled she is learning that she CAN do hard things and we celebrated with a trip to Chuck-A-Rama--a physical feast to match her spiritual feast!
