Snow Days!
Snow Days!
Texas is currently covered in a blanket of ice. We got the present of a four-day weekend here! No school Friday or Monday due to icy road conditions, plus they cancelled our December RS meeting night, the ward party and church on Sunday—the girls were thrilled. They loved putting on their gear and heading outside to “ice skate” or “sled.” Snowmen were impossible, but they did pull up chunks of “ice” to make blocky icemen out of them. I was kept busy trying to keep everyone occupied. We made Christmas tree T-shirts and stamped Christmas cards and made our Christmas cookies for the rounds. We will be ready to hit the road with treats for everyone as soon as the roads clear. The only bump in our road was that Kayla was still playing “skate” with Dessie when she came inside the house. They were pulling each other on blankets on the tile when Kayla lost her balance and hit her head. She seemed OK at first, although a little extra tired and she complained of a headache. I checked her eyes and they seemed fine. So I didn’t worry about anything until she threw up about two hours later. I was worried about a concussion so Stephen took her to the ER. She ended up being fine! I have never been to an ER before and now we have been twice in the span of two weeks—I guess that is life with kiddos.
