Olena Beana--On the Move!

On the Olena front, she is officially crawling! The week before Thanksgiving, she woke up very early on Friday with the worst case of croup. Knowing that I would soon have to care for the other children, and very worried about the stressed breathing, I decided to take the baby to the ER. They gave her a breathing treatment and steroids and she did soon recover. I think it is a tribute to her tenacity that later that very day, she started to crawl. I caught it on video and you can hear it in her breathing that she was working very hard. At one point, she full on just rested on the tile for a few seconds as she tried to get to me. It was darling, although she is MUCH harder to take a picture of nowadays! She also has been doing the funniest thing lately. She will see herself in the mirror (or dishwasher or other reflective surface) and then laugh, kiss herself and sometimes headbutt herself. It’s hilarious! In other news, I have officially won the family favorite competition and Olena is babbling “ma-ma” all the time. I think the other kiddos all said “da-da” first.

Check out Olena at this stage of life HERE. I think you'll love it when she attempts to kiss her own reflection!
