We signed our family up to run “Dorothy’s Dash” in Flower Mound mid-November. The kids ran a 1K and Stephen and I ran a 5K. Stephen was “training” for our family Beat’Em Stephen race and he ran his heart out and got a PR of 20:32. Unfortunately, our numbers were switched and so I was the person listed for his time, making me the winner in my age division. No worries. We got it all sorted out. I PRed at 28 minutes—but that was nowhere near winning my division!! The highlight of the day was running with the kiddos though. Dessie was supposed to run near me, but instead, in a great burst of enthusiasm, she raced ahead. It gave me great joy to see her “compete.”
