This summer we visited Grapevine Lake at this site. Ella looked at the island and she wanted desperately to swim to it...but, she really wasn't proficient enough to make it. So, we went back this month and tried again, after a summer of swim lessons and lots of practice. She did it and was so thrilled! Stephen and I were so pleased to see her work so hard to accomplish a goal. This is one of those truly memorable "firsts."
