Ella performed at a piano festival this month. It was the same song I played at one of my first competitions: Sonatina in C Major, Movement I by T. Latour. Ella is becoming quite the pianist and she received the highest rating possible for her performance. We have a tradition of going out for a special treat afterwards. She requested an ice cream sundae and I was happy to oblige with a trip to Sonic. We called her daddy to tell him the news and he suggested joining us to celebrate. Ella’s response was, “No way, this treat is only for me.” When she realized that her dad was insisting on making it a family event, her response: “Well, will the girls get smaller treats than me?” We are working on our Christ-like behavior!
