One of our dear friends was diagnosed with leukemia a few weeks ago and we have been looking for ways to serve the family. We were given the gift of another snow day at home. The girls began creating a book together with their friend as the heroine. I am going to scan their pictures and have it printed through a photobook site. So far it is very cute! We did have a few differences of opinion and a near brawl over varying artistic visions. At one point, Ella hid one of Kayla’s drawings for the book that did not meet her standards! Still, we hope it lifts our sweet friend up. Every one of our prayers includes their family!
Our book arrived completed in the mail within a couple of weeks. The girls were thrilled to find themselves “published” authors. We wrapped up the book with a marshmallow gun and ammo (part of the plot-line) and delivered it. It was such a great opportunity to teach the girls the phrase: “It takes a village.”
