I took Kayla and Ella on a special mommy-daughter date to the Flower Mound Rosette’s spring show this weekend. We went out to Chili’s before. Dinner and show—pretty fancy! I bought the girls a rose before the show (the Rosettes sell them as a fundraiser), which they loved. Unfortunately, Kayla bent her stem. She looked at me with big eyes and asked, “Can I have another rose?” I told her, “Nope, sorry Kayla.” That’s when the head bobs started and big crocodile tears started falling. However, the lights dimmed and the curtain came up right at the same time. The dance team began with a big, fast-paced number and Kayla was enthralled. Her little legs kicked right along as she clapped. At the end of the number, she turned to me and said: “I was really sad, but then I saw that and I started to smile.”
