Nine Months Old

At nine months, Olena is very impressive. She is now standing regularly on her own and loves to “unload” the dishwasher. I am sure she will be walking very soon. She discovered how to use our bar stools as walkers and she pushes them all around the kitchen. She is definitely a force of nature. With eight teeth in her mouth, she gnaws at everything. I caught her with little pieces of a crayon she had chewed to bits one day! There was a trail of crayon all over the floor! Who knows if she actually swallowed any crayon?!! I told her “No, no, no!” and she just laughed at me. She also often finds the piano box of treats open and available. She will pull out a candy bar and bite on it until she breaks the seal and can suck the chocolate out. Boy, can she create a mess. But, at least the candy is edible!

Peek A Boo
Olena makes me smile all of the time. She is constantly learning new things. A couple of weeks ago, she started grabbing the drapes near her high chair and using them to play “peek-a-boo!” She giggles and hides. It is so cute.

Gotta love a girl's first ponytail (or almost ponytail!)
