October Tradits!

Stephen was out of town for the week of Halloween, but the girls and I still managed to participate in a couple of our favorite holiday traditions. It's a little more fun for me to compete in the annual pumpkin carving contest when there is more than one carver, but the girls had a great time helping me clean out their pumpkins and design the faces. This is what we came up with...who do you think is the winner? (the answer will inevitably end up being 'me' this year!)

We also enjoyed an awesome "spooky" dinner with mummy dogs (hot dogs wrapped with croissants), alligator teeth (apples, pb and candy corn), eyeball stew (cool-aid with plastic eyeballs), and vampire's blood (red jello. The kids had a great time pretending to be grossed out and they loved "tricking" daddy when telling him about it later.
