Halloween!!

This year we went as a garden! We had all the parts covered: Dessie and I were flowers; Kayla was a bee; and Ella was a butterfly....and if Stephen had been in town, he would have been our garden gnome! Halloween was an interesting study in personalities for me. Kayla would get a treat and then sit down and open it up, while Ella would get a treat and run even faster to the neighbor's house. Kayla is our laid-back, enjoy the moment kid and Ella is our hoarder. It's interesting to see how those traits manifest themselves in even the smallest interactions. It'll be fun to see what type of trait Dessie will manifest next year. This year, Dessie would not stop crying because of the flower hood on her head. She stopped whenever I would take it off...pretty funny!

Our overall impressions:
Kayla said: I liked getting candy and eating marshmallows.
Ella said: I got a lot more candy than Kayla because I am faster.
Mommy said: I'm just glad we all stuck with one costume this year (a true miracle for this household)!

I also learned something important. I allowed the kids to go to town on their candy bags the night of Halloween. After that night, i confiscated it all and am using it as "reward bounty." That was very smart, because even in that short window of time, both kids ended up with diarrhea. Lesson for my children: MODERATION!
