Kayla Grace Reber is now officially 5-years-old! Happy Birthday to her. I was especially excited this year to celebrate this day. Ever since Ella turned 6 in May, Kayla has been asking me these two questions:
WHEN IS MY BIRTHDAY?
CAN I HAVE THAT FOR MY NEXT BIRTHDAY?
I capitalized the questions to emphasize how often I have heard them in the last five months....much too often. So, this was the one day I could say: Today is your birthday! And today we can open your presents. She loved everything. Her reactions were priceless! "I LOVE it! This is awesome. Oh my goodness. Can I take this to show-and-tell?" I was so pleased and really thought that I may not have to hear those two favorite phrases for a while....unfortunately, you'll love knowing that the very day after opening her awesome presents, she asked me this question at Walmart: "Can I have that for my next birthday?" And a week later, her baby sister Dessie pointed to a sparkly necklace and said the same thing: "Can I have that for my next birthday?" Sigh.
