Homeowners

Home sweet home!

Well, it's official. We own a home in Texas today. I thought you might like to see a picture of it. Sorry it isn't the best view...I was taking pictures to remind me what it looks like, not for "showing" it off. I'll send more pictures when we get there!

In the meantime, I am having a blog giveaway. In the process of choosing movers, I had three people come and give me a visual estimate of the amount of pounds I have to move. Their estimates varied widely, anywhere from 8,000-16,000 pounds. Based on the pictures you see here, take a guess. Note, that I have been told that while I live in a 2-bed apartment, I have stuff for a 4-bedroom home. What can I say? It's in the gene pool to "collect." On Tuesday, we will be given the final tally on the "pounds." In order to be a contestant on my blog giveaway, you will have to send me a comment on this post with a "pound estimate." If your guess is the closest, you will be receiving a 10$ gift card to my favorite store...that's right, Target. Enjoy guessing. And remember, you can only win if you play the game.

NOTE: The picture above used to be a 7 foot long x 4 foot wide hallway!

If the picture of my living room scares you a bit, just remember that the rest of the house is just as scary looking.

If it helps you in your guesswork, you can also consider my inventory of the big items:
piano
computer armoire
queen bed
3 large bookcases
5 small bookcases
daybed
crib
cradle
2 large dressers
8 scrapbook carts (full of paper!)
sofa
love seat
coffee table
3 trunks
2 buffets
1 dining table
6 chairs
1 secretary desk
2 executive desks
2 wide filing cabinets
etc...but this is the list of the big items!
Also, I have packed just over 150 boxes of various sizes.

Note: Since the movers are coming next Tuesday, I will not have my computer until probably the following week. The winner will be announced then! Happy guessing.

love LOVE the house. And look at that yard! We are so excited for you. Um....my guess is 13,500 lbs. I have to admit that I'm envious that you get to have "movers". How nice! I think the worst part about moving (besides the cleaning) is loading up. Good luck with everything. We can't wait to hear about life in Texas.

Love your house! It is super cute. It will hold all your cute stuff so nicely. You may even need to get some more stuff! So, I gues 12,600 lbs of goodness. We will miss you A LOT. But spring '08 sounds great to me! That will give you time to check out all the shopping beforehand!

What a CUTE house! I love it. Knowing that's what you're moving to makes it a little easier to see you go.... but I still wish you weren't! Oh my goodness I don't know what we're going to do without you.

I was laughing when I read that they told you that you have the stuff for a 4 bedroom :) I can believe it, I still have no idea how you fit everything so well into your apartment - you are amazing!! I can't wait to see what you do with your new place, I definitely want to see some more pictures :)

My guess is 12, 300 lbs. And I think that I might be under ;) We just might have to come check out your guest bedroom one of these days.... :D This comment is as big as a post! hahaha

12,856...final answer. I really really love your house. It's not what I pictured a Texas house to look like. It's beautiful and the yard is so green. How exciting. Now I can't wait to visit. I had to laugh at the pictures. It's so funny that all the boxes fill up your house. Makes ya wonder where you put everything!!

I thought Texas was supposed to be full of tumbleweeds, cowboys, and other stuff!?? You're home is awesome! You'll do a perfect job decorating it. From the sounds of it, you've already got all of the furniture that you'll need. I'm guessing 13,800. That sounds like soooo much! A piano? Where was that in your apt? You are definitely the Houdini of decorating!

So Jealous! Movers!!! How about unpackers? We could still use a few of those.
The house is gorgeous. So is your front lawn. Congratualtions on it all!
No idea about the poundage. I'd be interested to know how much of it is scrapbooking weight though. ;0)

I am guessing 14,500 lbs. I know how many books you have and small boxes with books are deceiving. Sorry we didn't get a chance to call and wish you a happy birthday today, but we will be sure to call tomorrow!

Wow you guys know how to fill a house. The funny thing is when you get something bigger you always tend to collect even more stuff. So I can amagine what it may look like if you move again in a couple of years. My guess is 13,650 pounds. The house looks so awsome. We are very happy for you.

Hi Lauren, I hope you are enjoying unpacking - it's my favorite part of moving (organizing and finding places!) Anyway, I have your name for Erica's swap and I wanted to let you know that I mailed you package to you yesterday. You should get it sometime early next week. I hope you enjoy!
