Ella Turns Two

That's right, I officially have a two-year-old (actually, it's not official until Sunday, but we decided to do all our celebrating Friday since we are heading out for a week long babysitting adventure for a family in our ward). But, let me tell you, for all intents and purposes, I truly have a two-year-old on my hands. I knew the days of being in charge were coming to a close as Ella proudly learned the expression, "I do it," about two months ago, but today I knew for real that my baby has vanished when the words, "No, this one, I wear this one, it's pink," came out of her mouth in response to my request to put on her jean jacket...oh well!

We had a party for all of Ella's friends today. It was supposed to be a swim party, but when we looked outside this morning at the dark, menacing clouds, it became a puddle party instead with a picnic on our living room carpet.

She had a great time. And yes, she was actually inhaling the bubbles more than she was blowing them!

She had more fun later when we opened the gifts from family. Thanks to all of our family for spoiling our little Ella. She received a tea set (which she amazingly knew just what to do--you'll see in the picture), a bike (which she is still figuring out), a vacuum (hooray, let's put her to work), and several new outfits and games. My goodness, we sure are blessed by family. She's one lucky girl!

Notice how she pours tea for Baby Betty without any training!

Happy Birthday to Ella!! When is her actual birthday? where did the tea set come from? I must know, Lily is obsessed with Tea Parties and I haven't been able to find a plastic one. It looks like yours is plastic is it?

That was such a cute party! And I love seeing Ella with her new tea set... sooo cute!! I guess tea parties are just a natural instinct for little girls. :)

I love her! How adorable our little Ella is becoming! Her own personality coming forth.
Looks like a wonderful party. Lauren, you adapt to "Plan B" very well! That's what makes you so "Super"!
