Ella learned a Gavotte by Handel for the fall festival this October. While she occasionally argues about the need for piano lessons in her life, I know that she loves the joy of playing a piece successfully and earning a reward for doing so. She had worked very hard on this piece and had managed to really develop her technique and interpretation. She hoped to win the big purple ribbon. And she did it! This was her first festival to nab the highest rating (1+). My favorite comment from the adjudicator was on the back: “Good student, well taught!”
