Soccer season started this week in Texas. Dessie joined a team with her friend Allie. She loves her team color-lavender and the team name--The Hummingbirds. She had a bit of trouble at her first practice trying to use her hands to set up the ball before she would kick it. But, she made some adjustments and by game time on Saturday she actually made a goal (which I caught on camera--pat on the back to me). She was thrilled and practically bowed to me afterwards (gesture of pride mixed with humility perhaps???). Ella's team is adjusting to an even larger field and adding the new offsides rule to their gameplay. They got called on that one a LOT. It’s amazing how much more competitive the teams have become since she was the toddler in our family playing three on three. Dessie and Ella were thrilled to find that they are both number six on their team! We really are fans of that number lately. The Reber six has a great ring.
