In honor of the upcoming Easter holiday, Kayla’s kindergarten class was assigned a family project to prepare for an egg drop. The assignment was to design a container for an egg that would protect it from breaking when dropped from the top of the gymnasium. Luckily, we had been through this project with Ella and I kept our work. With a few modifications to the design (so that Kayla could claim ownership), we successfully completed our egg drop. We put her egg in a tin food storage canister, poked holes across two of the sides and used a nylon sock to create a tension rod that would hold the egg in place. It was really quite smart—we can credit Stephen with some good research on his part! I intend to use it again when Dessie starts kindergarten in a couple of years. We’ll be three for three!
