Our Easter week started out wonderfully. We kicked off the celebration with a preschool egg hunt and even enjoyed some hard-boiled egg decorating. Ella was so eager to welcome the Easter bunny that she wrote him a beautiful letter. We left our empty baskets out on the couch and went to bed Friday night expecting a great surprise the next morning...that's when things turned ugly.

Right on schedule, the Easter bunny delivered beautiful baskets of goodies and TONS of eggs outside to hunt. Unfortunately, the ants discovered the eggs before our girls could get to them. The candy was being eaten away by hundreds of ants. I used up all of my bug killer. Poor Ella was in tears. Dessie was the only one undeterred. She ate her oatmeal breakfast with her chocolate bunny and box of bubble gum right next to her.
When Ella had finally recovered, she wrote the Easter bunny another letter. And soo....voila! After a return trip to Wal-Mart and Target, we experienced our first "Re-Easter." And we learned an important lesson: outside egg hunts and Texas do not mix. We will forever do our hunts INSIDE. One funny thing to note: Ella realized that the Easter bunny must be 8 feet tall because there were eggs hidden very high up!

Happy Easter to one and all!

Loved the preschool egg hunt! Your pic of all the kiddos is pretty amazing. Hard to get them all in one place at one! Thank you for helping to coordinate it. So sorry to have missed Planet Pizza. Looks like everyone had a great time.
