I love Christmas morning. I even enjoy the early wake-up call (7:30 this year...not too bad) to see the kids that excited. I especially loved that we were able to enjoy the tradition of opening presents on Christmas and then attend church and reflect on the meaning of the day.
We had several Christmas highlights this year including...
1. Dessie racing around on her new scooter (while Ella tried to convince her to trade in her new model for her older model...unsuccessfully)
2. Dessie dropping everything to eat (by the handfuls) Lucky Charms
3. Ella saying: "I got exactly what I wanted"
4. Each girl opening a new "american girl" doll and discovering that Grandma had made them all matching Christmas dresses
5. The bubble gum ball machine...especially when the girls discovered that not only would it take dimes, it also would take pennies :(
6. Ella convincing Daddy to help her make cupcakes with her new easy bake oven and cupcake decorator toy
7. Kayla wearing her new Hello Kitty hat and loving it
8. Kayla saying: "This is the best Christmas ever!"
9. Lauren opening a surprise gift from Stephen: a projector!!
10. Dessie opening her first pack of Dora underwear...Project Potty Training is well underway!
11. Discovering that the surprise special gift from my good friend was an AWESOME doll house!
12. Target shooting with the new gun popper
13. Pancakes for dinner!
14. Trying to learn the art of balloon animals
15. Remembering that we had forgotten to open the stockings and finding letters from Santa inside
16. Everyone going to bed at 7:00 pm
What a wonderful day!! Thank you to all of our friends and family for all of the wonderful cards, treats, gifts and Christmas wishes that you sent our way. We love you all and hope you had a happy holiday!
