My mom has always claimed that I behaved atrociously at my 3-year-old birthday party--I grabbed all of the gifts from my friends and refused to say thank you! She also claims that I did not get a 4-year-old party. Ella was not quite as bad, she did say "thank you" at least. But there is a great clip on my video camera that describes the title of this post entirely. We were going on a treasure hunt through the house to find their take-home buckets and Ella was having a very difficult time taking turns to find a clue...she ended up putting herself in time-out, screaming and crying on my bathroom toilet for the rest of the party. Maybe it was just too much excitement for her :) Well, besides that fiasco, the party was a hit. We played games, had lunch, did cake and the whole treasure hunt fun! I was so impressed with our group of 3 and 4-year-old kids--they were so good. My favorite part was how genuinely excited they were to give a present away.
I guess we'll just have to see if there will be a 4-year-old party next year!

Very cute! Sometimes I still want to cry on my birthday (only cuz I'm getting old).
HaPpY bIrThDaY ElLa!!
Lauren, what a darling party! Ella looks so cute in her little party dress, and it looks like the perfect birthday party! You are such a great mom and it looks like you had a complete success - even with Ella's meltdown ;) It probably was because it was just too much fun all at once ;) It also looks like you guys have such a great group of little friends. Too cute. Happy Birthday miss Ella! I can't believe she's 3!!!
Looks like so much fun! Emma is sorry she wasn't able to come. Hopefully we can get the girls together to play soon!!!
Cutest party... Ella looks adorable. I miss her. We still have her present sitting on my counter. One of these days we may get it to the post office. She won't mind a late gift I hope! We MISS you!
