No Treats For You!

Lauren: (knocking on Ella's door) Ella, what are you doing in there? Why is this door locked?
Ella: I'm just reading, just a second. (sounds of scurrying...seconds pass)
Lauren: Come on Ella. What's going on?
Ella: I'm coming. (The door opens.)
Lauren: Hmmmm...are those crumbs on your lips?
(eyes the room, opens the closet door and sees 5 cookies with a tall glass of milk)
Lauren: What are these cookies doing in here?
Ella: I was hungry.
Lauren: You know the rules. No snack time before dinner and no food upstairs. You're busted.

HER SENTENCE: No treats in her school lunch for 5 days and she has to run a mile every Saturday for 5 weeks with her mom.

My own mom is not at all surprised--I also have a sweet tooth and a hoarding compulsion. Well, like mother, like daughter--we both have to run it off.

PS- The running was pretty difficult at first for Ella. She was struggling with her attitude...that is until I told her she could have a donut if she ran the whole mile while smiling. I learned what she is capable of that day.

seriously, like mother like daughter!

I remember your sweet tooth. I remember having to 'make' you sit on the couch for sneaking candy while I was watching you and the twins.

The boys and I were running around playing and you received a 2 min time-out.
