Arizona's Junior Miss

My parents surprised me with flight tickets as a Christmas gift to go watch my sister compete in the Arizona state Jr. Miss competition. Dessie joined me and we had a wonderful time--Arizona is beautiful in January. At one point, my sister was laying out in her swimming suit! Anyway, I'm glad I took Dessie because it turns out that she needs more exposure to boys. Maybe it is from living in a house full of girls, or having all girl babysitters, but Dessie is terrified of my brothers. She wouldn't go near them and even ended up with a huge bump on her forehead from trying to run around from Kelvin. Don't worry boys--I'm sure she'll grow out of it!

Anyway, the highlight of the trip was seeing my sister rock the stage--not only was she beloved by all the girls (winning Miss Congeniality), but she also won awards in the interview, poise and talent sections of the competition. Check out the video of her talent--she stole the show! I was so proud to be her sister that night and not at all surprised to see her win First runner-up overall! What a great night! Congratulations Jennie!
