How many days until Christmas? I think I heard that question daily, numerous times, for the past six weeks. Excitement is really not a hard thing to create around here, although patience is...Luckily, we found plenty of fun activities to both distract us and prepare us for the big day.
1. We made a visit to the North Pole (Bass Pro Shop) to visit Santa.

2. We took pictures in our new Christmas dresses...check out those boots!

3. We enjoyed a holiday recital at the nursing home. Ella awed the crowds with her rendition of "Silent Night."
4. We spent a morning decorating gingerbread houses and cookies...of course, there was caroling and visiting later!
5. We went with friends to visit the Gaylord Hotel--my favorite part was the life-size gingerbread house.
6. We enjoyed having Aunt Jennie visit for a few days before Christmas. Jennie was a hit with the girls.
7. We had a girl's morning out to see "Tangled" and visit the mall. The movie was pronounced a success and we left wanting Rapunzel dolls and Max the horse.

8. We checked out Grapevine Main Street and enjoyed the lights and interactive display. The kids danced under the gazebo and we got a special Culver's treat afterwards. There is definitely magic in gazing at lights. Dessie now looks out her windows and says, "Cool," and "Pretty."

As you can see, we kept ourselves busy until Christmas Eve...
