Our ward had a great activity this past Saturday centered on storytelling. Families brought blankets and we had picnic style snacks. Several ward members shared personal stories with us ranging from the very funny to the very spiritual. It got me thinking about what story I would share with everyone. I think it would have to be the time I was driving home to Provo (by myself) after a trip to Lake Powell. I stopped in Beaver to get myself a drink and a snack. The particular place I stopped at had a mechanic shop attached to the gas station. When I came out of the store, I saw two mechanics kicking my tires and walking around the car. As I approached, they recommended that I get two new tires immediately as the ones I had were about to burst. Now being the skeptic about mechanics that I am, and having about 6 dollars in cash and a credit card balance that I wasn't sure I had the money to pay, I instantly put up my guard and assumed I would be fine to make the last two hour drive home. I had a mechanic in Provo that I trusted. But, as I was getting in the car, the mechanic warned me once more. It was then that I looked at the name badge on his navy blue coveralls--yes, it was Nephi. And surprise, surprise, when I looked at the other mechanic's name badge, it was Lehi. I don't know what the chances for that are...maybe it is a high probability in Beaver, but I decided to get my tires changed before I drove home. Who knows what would have happened?? Perhaps I owe Nephi and Lehi my life...
As you can see from our party pictures, Ella was mostly there for the treats!!
Kayla has become accustomed to enjoying all parties from her carseat, "baby row," with her friend, Katie Robertson. (just three days apart!)

That's a great story! How can you not trust a dude name Nephi? :)
I love the picture of Katie and Kayla in their carseats. What would Katie do without her carseat buddy? She'd be even more bored staring at a wall or something... I love our good babies!
Lauren, I just had to laugh because not to long ago at work one of the ladies was talking about the Beaver tire "trap". I wasn't familiar with it but apparently you are not the only one that has been told you need new tires. The lady I work with fell for it and now laughs at it everytime she stops in Beaver. I'm sure you needed new tires but it sure did make me laugh to hear the same type of story from a different source.
I enjoyed the story. Eric and I were also musing about what stories we would tell. It is fun to think about.
Chance missed out on "baby row" that night! Though I'm sure there will be many more opportunities!
