Confessions from a semi-coherent nut

Well, after the Twilight Extravanganza book club party night, I decided to take the personality test on which character I am most like in the series and here are my results:

You're Bella Swan - You are intelligent and kind but not quite sure what you want out of life yet. You have a feeling there's something more out there for you. You're attracted to those who are real and avoid the fake. Sometimes you're a bit accident prone, but your true friends will always be loyal to you and come to your aid when you need it.
Take this quiz!

So what do you guys think? I guess it seems "meant to be" since I have such a crush on Edward (sorry Honey!) But, then again, I've never thought of myself as nearly crippling clumsy or likely to fall for a vampire...I don't really advocate falling for a mythical creature that drinks blood!

And, to finally fulfill my obligation as the dutiful friend, I have officially been tagged several times now to write 7 things that you might not know about me and after a lot of pondering (it took me forever to think of obscure facts!), hopefully this will satisfy my 'blogging world friends.'

You may not know:

1. That I worked as a BYU art model for a semester. Let's just say I was desperate for funds, and "donating" my blood/plasma for money didn't sound that appealing. I know that this sounds completely unlike me and it was, but I've always believed in trying to break through comfort zones. Funny story: One of the art teachers ended up having me pose for a portrait, which is in an art gallery somewhere...(wouldn't it be funny to see your face on the wall of a gallery!)

2. That I own the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice and I watch it probably 3 times a year. Now, I know that sounds truly crazy. But, the truth is that I watch many movies over and over again. I've found that I spend A LOT of time as a mom doing activities that keep hands busy, but not minds. I do better when I have something to focus on. So, I 'listen' to movies when I iron, fold laundry, scrapbook, clean, work, etc. This will probably explain my HUGE movie collection. I have noticed that I tend to rewatch certain movies more than others. And what can I say--Colin Firth is exactly the Mr. Darcy I always envisioned and men in breeches really are somehow more attractive.

3.That I used to be a morning person. From the time I started piano in kindergarten, I practiced in the morning. By the time I was in high school, I had to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to get it done. Funny story: One time I woke up on a typical week day, but I was unusually tired as I got in the shower. I hadn't been practicing for more than 30 seconds, when my parents rushed out of their bedrooms to ask me what I was doing. Apparently, my alarm hadn't really gone off, I just thought it had...it was midnight! Anyway, I may have overdone it, because I now prefer to pull the all-nighter and sleep in.

4. That my secret dream has always been to write something (preferably book length) meaningful. So, to be honest, sometimes when I pick up works authored by Mormon moms, it depresses me. It throws me into the, 'What am I doing with all my time?" spiral. Luckily, I am not given to much depression and I quickly jive out of it, especially when I get to edit all of my wonderful siblings' college papers (I do this all the time!) and realize that I may just be more of the teacher/appreciater of the art form, than the creator. Then again, you could always look for my by-line someday. Some dreams never die, right!

5. That my first more monumental (not really, but it seemed so at the time) fight with Stephen was over carving our Halloween pumpkin. Let's just say that we both had creative visions that didn't match. We ended up working out our creative differences but we now get two pumpkins (just in case). And for the record, we did win "best pumpkin" that year (even if we weren't speaking to each other).

6. That I play the nose flute almost shockingly well.

7. That when I was five and they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, "A MOM!" without hesitation. Of course, ten years later, on a "Take your Daughter to Work Day," I decided to shadow my stay-at-home mom and made the mistake of asking her, "So, what do you do all day?" In my defense, I wasn't exactly trying to be rude, I just really couldn't comprehend how she was spending all her time (and she had seven kids at the time). Well, after only a few months of my own newborn motherhood, I could easily tell my mom, "I'm sorry." I still agree with my five-year-old self, motherhood is the best job in the world, but back then, I think I thought it was easy and now I think it is anything but easy. Now that I'm a mom, I tell people that when I grow up, I want to be an author with a Ph.D.

Now, I am supposed to "tag" seven more people...but I think many of you have already done this. However, I would still love to hear from

Julie, Annie, Stephanie, Cherin, Wendy, Diana, & Stephen

I wanna watch P&P at least 3 times a year....sigh...not sure how I'd do that though...how do you?

Those facts rocked and totally confirmed what I already knew about you...that you're awesome!

I love edward too..in case you didn't already know that :D

I love this post. I wish we lived closer and we could watch P&P together. I have a bigger crush on Mr. Darcy than Edward. I love that you were practicing the piano at midnight! Books from mormon moms depress me a little too...a girl can dream, you are right.

I love all the things you shared about you! And so fun that you did the quiz, I was Jacob! I think I would have much rather been Bella ;)

I love how you watch things again and again as you do your chores and things. Colin Firth really is the most perfect Mr. Darcy. And I was laughing so hard about you and Stephen and your first Halloween pumpkin, lol, it's funny the things we fight about sometimes. You guys are so funny :) And I had no idea that you had been an art model at BYU! And I would not be surprised in the least bit if you ended up being one of those mormon mommies that write amazing things. If anyone could do it, it would be you Lauren! :)

Yeah for Edward! I took the same quiz and ended up with Esme. Too fun. I even got my mom hooked, she likes Jacob though.

I love the nose flute one. We have had a few of those in our day. I don't think I play amazingly well, but as you know, I am not musically talented and you are incredibly talented in music so it makes sense. I also think you should have put on their the number of times you read and re-read Dr. Smoot's book while editing it. That was highly impressive and if I remember correctly that was one long book.

I wanted to let you know that I got your package from the book swap. What a cute idea! I've been really busy and haven't had much time to really get into the books but I am really excited about everything you sent!

His Dad loves LSU, so he just follows suit! He really has grown to love them though. He is a pretty fanatical little boy. He is that way about every sport too (his Dad is fanatical too).

I looked through the cookbook you sent this morning, AWESOME!! You really put a lot of work into my package, thank you so much. I love the magazines too, I looked through one of them the other night. I don't subscribe to any magazines but I love the ones you sent! Thanks again!

So funny that you love the P&P BBC Version. I just pulled out my copy. I've never watched it before. It doesn't have Colin Firth. I think it's the one before him - still almost 5 hours long. Bry is out of town and I'm starting to watch it tomorrow night!!
I totally see you as Bella too!!

Thanks for sharing so much about yourself. It was fun to read!!
