In my family, Cupid comes to visit on Valentine’s Day and brings little surprises for the children. Ella is getting older so I was a little worried about how to do the doorbell ditching without her discovering Cupid’s identity. But, I forgot that we installed a new wireless doorbell a few months ago. So, even though Ella was watching the door like a hawk, Stephen had already taken the doorbell off, brought it inside and just pressed it when there was no chance she could suspect either one of us—pretty awesome little device. This year, Cupid brought along a new mini pillow pet for each of the girls, along with your classic chocolates. They were thrilled. I think the best part of my day though was meeting Stephen for lunch near his work. Unfortunately, Valentine’s Day coincided with the day we swap babysitting and it happened to be our turn to be the caretakers. So, I was happy we were able to spend a little time together earlier in the day.
