John Lewis for Mayor

My dad is running for mayor of my hometown--Gilbert, AZ. Even now it still sounds a little funny to me. My dad has always been a huge community advocate and highly involved in his town...but, he has never been a politician. Of course, that may just be what Gilbert needs. Anyway, the reason for my latest trip home was to support my dad at his campaign rally. My kids were definitely fodder for the political fire. While my dad was thanking all of the supporters who had showed up to post signs all over town, Ella kept on asking when she could go up and speak. When she was given her opportunity (FINALLY), she simply said, "Please vote for my grandpa." We may be starting a side campaign: Grandkids for John.

My favorite part of the whole experience was seeing my dad meet several times with his campaign manager--Chad Heywood, my longtime friend from high school. (Shown below.) I got a giggle out of how grown up that whole idea made me feel.

The following pictures are some of my favorites taken for the campaign. And if you're interested in knowing more, just click on the button in the sidebar :) I know donations are always acceptable :) Or you may just get a kick out of the family movies and pictures posted on the web and facebook.

We love Politics!! My dad has been a city council member for Farmington for the last, I don't know, 6-ish years and I'd be shocked if he didn't run for Mayor at their next turn-around. He says he doesn't know right now, but I think it will happen. Good luck to your Dad!

Thanks again for giving Ben a place to stay. Feel free to come down and visit if you'd like to see the country!

Wow! I'm not surprised, though :) Good luck to your Dad! That is wonderful, if I were there I would totally be voting for him :) You look great in all of your pictures, Lauren. And so fun that your friend is your dad's campaign manager, it always weirds me out, especially with my guy friends, when they do big grown up things and are successful!
