We have a lot of reasons to be happy today in our house and I thought I'd share a few with all of you.
First of all, I can check some very big projects off of my to-do list. My husband informs me that I am a much more pleasant person to be around once the Christmas cards are done and packages sent and neighbors visited. So hooray for that! I also finished burning cds for my piano students of the stuff I've recorded for them throughout this year--pretty awesome gift!
Second of all, the girls got to visit Santa Claus at Bass Pro shop which had NO LINE (hooray for that)! And hooray for the ability to use "Santa" as a "parenting technique." Anytime Ella is misbehaving, I just need to remind her that Santa is watching...she shapes right up :) By the way, for Christmas, Ella would like the following: "A pink princess dress-up, a pink ring, a pink crown, and a Belle Barbie doll." She also claims that her favorite color is red!
Third, I finished some very fun Christmas crafts and got them shipped out...I can now finally see my kitchen table again. But, aren't they cute!! (We modgpodged little ornaments for our teachers this year!)
Fourth, (and probably most important), you may not be able to see in this first photo, but this is Stephen's wish list for Santa and it had one word on it: JOB.
Stephen accepted a new job this week that has the advantage of a very enviable commute (it's just 6 miles down the road!!) Congrats honey--couldn't ask for a better Christmas gift for the whole family.

Hooray!!!! I am so excited for Stephen's new job, the new baby, and that you have wrapped up (hehe) all of your projects! You amaze me with all that you do, and my husband feels the same way when I am finally done with the craziness ;) Stephen is not alone :) Also, I can't believe how grown up your girls look in that first picture! Such big girls. Oh how we miss you!
Okay, here are my guesses:
1) Totally a boy. We will have perfect playdates forever when we get together, a partner for every ride, and hopefully live by each other again someday! :)
2) Your love language is Acts of Service and Stephen's is Quality Time.
3) Your Christmas cards are always the BEST. I laughed out loud. Absolutely loved it!!!
Merry Christmas! We miss you!
Lauren, Your Christmas letter is THE BEST! Absolutely hilarious! And I also think your love language is acts of service, and Stephen's is Quality Time. The comics were great! I think my love language is Words of Affirmation, BTW. Anyway, the fam looks great and everyone looks happy. Congrats on the new job and the new baby (I'm guessing a girl). Keep up the good work! You're awesome! Oh, and that video clip you have with Ella spinning is worthy to be on America's Funniest Videos.
Your Christmas card was fabulous, as always! I just finished sending mine out and stress levels have plummeted. But, my family is due to arrive (some of them for 17 days) so that brings on the cleaning stress.
As for my guesses:
1) Rick says he wished he'd have gotten in more teasing over the middle name of Donald in their youth.
2) I think another girl for you guys. We are also expecting another bundle of baby in June. Ultrasound is Jan. 29th!
3) Lauren - acts of service, Stephen - quality time
BIG congrats on the new job. I think short commute time is one of our top priorities in finding a job.
Oh I am SOO happy for you guys!! What a great time to find out that he's gotten a job. You guys will really be able to enjoy this Christmas a lot more.
And by the way, you are just so dang creative!! Those ornaments are darling!!
Congrats on the new job........a job with money coming in always seems to relieve stress! Add that to you finishing your cards/shopping I bet Stephen is in heaven! hahaha
I love the Christmas letter from Stevie. That is awesome that Santa took care of you like that!! ha ha ha Merry Christmas!!!
Yahoo on the job. That is great. And your letter blocks turned out amazing. You are so crafty!
Here are our guesses:
1. A boy (enough of all that princess stuff, right?)
2. I'm gonna say your love language is service (mine too!) and that Stephen's is affection. It's been too long since I've read the book, but I think those were some love languages.
3. How 'bout David for Stephen's middle name?
Cross our fingers! We loved your card - Katie thought it was amazing and wondered who had drawn all the cartoons. She's impressed with your artistic ability!
Hope you are well. Did you get our goodies okay? We left them on your front porch.
CONGRATS!!! How exciting!I was wondering when #3 turn would come. Well here is my entry along with my extra raffles tickets (hopefully I get them all)
1) my guess is a boy
2) Stephen's middle name is donald
3) Stephen's love language is quality time, Lauren's is service
Wahoo! I hope it's me. BTW, I loved your Christmas card...I always look forward to it. Wish you could be here this Christmas. We will miss you.
Brock will make his own entry...we have a family strategy goin'.
So I've been informed I have to make my own comment here to "increase our chances". First off, Stephen CONGRATS!!! I bet that is a huge Christmas present to have that pressure off your shoulders and to get back to the work force.
2) Lauren- Service, Stephen- Quality Time
3) A... Girl! I say that only because I envision 3 girls and then a boy (not to already commit your family to another child, that's just my vision).
BUT I am excited to find out either way! Merry Christmas, Hopefully you got both my packages... I'm sure you'll just be blown away by them :)
Wow. Congratulations on the baby...how exciting!!!
Thank you so much for the CD of Ave on the piano. Now... Love languages. Lauren, you are acts of service and Stephen I think is time....am I right?
Thanks for the Christmas card! How clever and wonderful. I loved it. I did know that Stephens middle name is Donald. I must have remembered that because it is also my Dad's name. ha ha ha
I think you'll have a boy! I agree with all the rest- Stephen is quality time and you are acts of service. I love the cartoon. You are so creative. I need to learn from you!!! Have a Happy Holiday!
Congrats on the new job! Whew!! I'm glad you get to stay in Texas! Could you possibly be any more active and awesome Lauren! You must drink a Rockstar every day to get it all done! Merry Christmas!
Congrats on everything!
